Yep, the rumour is true - I've got a blog. Paul gave it to me as a present for my birthday last Sunday.
I have no idea yet what I'm going to write about. I love the challenge of it but I must admit to strong feelings of apprehension at this stage. I suppose the worst that can happen is that nobody reads it, although I can pretty well rely on the family !
A few facts at the outset :
I've just turned 70 and whereas I have no intention of winding down, there will be times when I may not know what I'm talking about. As Groucho said ' if I'd known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself' !!
I have failed dismally so far to embed a video despite Paul's list of instructions - I need serious help....................!
and finally I work on a PC , not your white hot Mac - but I'll press on, there's much to be done.
See you around !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome aboard Harry. It feels good having you in the blogosphere.

Thanks Ben - you are my first very welcome visitor.

Let me be your second one then, nice use of bold massive fonts, and blue Dad.

Put some naked ladies up, Harry - that usually pulls the crowds in.
What's the 'c' for ?
And some advice from me - I wouldn't give a toss about how many visitors you get or who they are - don't ask Paul how to check your 'stats' - avoid all contact with your 'stats'. Don't be tempted.

Found you!
And don't worry, I suspect that on most things, you have a far better idea of what you're talking about than the rest of us do.

Welcome and thank you all for your comments and advice. If anyone can muster a written real idiot's guide to embedding a video and email it, I would be most grateful. I can't do links yet either !!
Tom the C is for the family surname - I have just the single forename - I travel light !!

Harry, when you see the video on YouTube look over on the right hand side and you'll see a little box called Embed. About middle of the video and right a bit.
Copy that code, all the (object width param) rubbish.
Next switch to Typepad. In the Compose A New Post bit click the Edit HTML tab, which is on the top right of the text box. Now, paste all the (object width param) code in there.
Hit Publish Now and we're done!

Well done, Harry. And many happy writing wishes from Canada.

Can I just say Dad that you have absolutely no sense of colour, type, or spacing, and I like that, very much. Very unique.

Harry. I am very happy that you are blogging. You have supported my blog and now I will support yours. Quid pro quo, as they say in the Medway towns.

I think Harry will be asleep at this time, probably tired from golf. It will be early to bed around here, and there will be no swearing or anything. Should be good.

I don't know you and I don't know your son [though I read his blog] but I had to say hello because the tone of your posts automatically sets you apart from us rush-rush-rush whippersnappers, and I mean that as a huge compliment.
Hope you have as much fun on here as you seem to in all other aspects of your life.

I bet they don't say that in Gillingham, Dan (unless it means 'Everything for a quid')

Truly, excellent news!! The world can only be a better place for having your blog in it, Harry C - I expect to see you profiled in 'Campaign' before the year is out...
